Jeff Skeen

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Skeen received a degree in BS in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). For more than 26 years in the fitness industry, Mr. Skeen served as the CEO, CFO and CIO for top fitness brands, had successful exits with three private equity funds and has been intimately involved in more than $800 million in equity and debt transactions.


During his career, Mr. Skeen was responsible for designing one of the first Windows-based health club management systems in the U.S., which was used during his tenure at Gold’s Gym International as the operating platform.


Most recently, Mr. Skeen served as President, CEO, and Principal of Fitness Connection, where he was responsible for the overall performance of the company, as well as determining its strategic direction. Fitness Connection is a low-price, high-value chain with 37 locations operating in North Carolina, Texas and Nevada and is one of the top 20 chains in the U.S.


Prior to forming Fitness Connection, he was CEO and Principal of Titan Management Solutions (TMS). While at TMS, Mr. Skeen worked with Gold’s Gym franchisees in opening and operating fitness clubs throughout the U.S. Sometime before TMS, Mr. Skeen had worked as the CFO, CIO, and Principal of one of the largest and most respected health club chains in the world, Gold’s Gym International (GGI).


Before handling the said positions at GGI, Mr. Skeen was a principal and an operator of the G Group, an organization that focused on owning and operating Gold’s Gym franchise locations in four markets in the greater DC metro area. By 1998, the G Group was recognized as the largest and most profitable Gold’s Gym franchisee worldwide.

Dr. Shane Geib, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Shane Geib is a Co-Founder of Obsidian Men’s Health and urologist certified by the American Board of Urology. He earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Missouri and completed a residency in urology at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, during which he received the Pfizer Award.


Formerly an attending urologist at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in northern Virginia, he is now an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at The George Washington University and a member of the American Urologic Association. With more than a decade of experience diagnosing and treating men’s sexual health, he has traveled the globe to attend to his clients including world leaders and foreign dignitaries. Dr. Geib is an independent physician dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, reducing costs, and streamlining delivery of care with accountability to the patients he serves.

Strategic Advisors 

Tim Skeen

Previously Chief Operating Officer, Government Business Division and Chief Information Officer Anthem Inc.


Tim Skeen, Chief Operating Officer, Government Business Division for Anthem, Inc., had responsibility for leading claims, enrollment and billing operations, member and provider services, international operations and IT platforms related to the Government Business Division. Additionally, Tim was the Enterprise Chief Information Officer, responsible for enterprise architecture, data and analytics, SOA platforms, cloud operations, infrastructure, information security, network operations, and corporate applications.


He is an accomplished executive with more than 30 years of experience both inside and outside of health care. Tim has always been focused on ensuring technology plays a key role in every aspect of the business to enable associates to serve consumers efficiently today while building a foundation for tomorrow. He empowers teams to bring creativity and forward-thinking to their roles on a daily basis and understands the vast opportunities technology and digitization are bringing to the health care industry.


Other Career Information:

Prior to Tim’s role as Anthem COO/CIO, he served as Anthem’s senior vice president & CIO, Clinical and Government in the Information Technology division where he was responsible for Information Technology in support of the Specialty Business and Government Business Division’s Medicaid, Medicare and Federal Government Solutions lines of business. Tim also served as chief information officer at Amerigroup and chief technology officer at Molina Health.

Board director for Availity, LLC, a company that provides connectivity between healthcare payers and providers, where he served on the Governance and Audit committees from 2015 to 2019.


Craig Rydin

Mr. Rydin is an Operating Partner at LNK Partners. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yankee Candle Company, a position to which he was appointed in February 2003.


In April 2001, he joined the Yankee Candle Company and served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Rydin was the President of the Away From Home’s food services division of Campbell Soup Company, a position he had held since 1998.


From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Rydin served as the President of the Godiva Chocolates division of Campbell. Before Godiva, Mr. Rydin had held a number of senior management positions at Pepperidge Farm, Inc., which is also a part of Campbell.


In addition to serving at the American Heart Association’s and Au Bon Pain’s Board of Directors, Mr. Rydin currently works at Boards of Priceline.com, Phillips-Van Heusen Company, Fitness Connection, and the University of New Hampshire. 

Brett Berlin

Over the last 45 years, Mr. Berlin’s professional experience has been innovating and advocating for innovators and applying leading edge information solutions to mission challenges.


In this pursuit, he has served across multiple sectors in various roles including senior strategy executive, consultant and mentor, applied information and systems technologist, collaborative leader, computer scientist, and public policy entrepreneur.


In his current faculty appointment within the George Mason University's Volgenau School of Engineering, he directs the joint capstone program and develops curriculum for the multi-disciplinary Data Analytics Engineering M.S. program. This program currently partners with seven School of Engineering Departments, the School of Management, and the School of Health and Human Services.


Mr. Berlin’s research interests includes "datalogy" at scale, digital grand challenges, IA versus. AI, information society ethics and governance, policy entrepreneurship, and system informatics and innovation.


Mr. Berlin is a founding member of the ISOC-DC chapter of the Internet Society, which focuses on internet policy, and currently a member of IEEE-USA Policy Advisory Committees and NIST standards working groups (cloud and big data).


Moreover, Mr. Berlin has made seminal contributions to the creation and implementation of national policy innovation programs including U.S. High-Performance Computing and Communications Initiative, DoD HPC Modernization Program, and the SDI National Test Bed Program.

Dr. Vaishali Geib, M.D.

Dr. Geib is a practicing internist and integrative medicine physician in Northern Virginia. She received her MD from the University of Missouri Kansas City in the six-year combined BA/MD program and completed her residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.


She also completed a fellowship at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. After her residency, Dr. Geib worked at America Online Corp (AOL) in Dulles, Virginia for five years. She helped lead business development and sales strategy in the health business vertical and also served as a health spokesperson where she made numerous television and radio appearances on behalf of the company.


Dr. Geib is a previous president of Shenandoah Independent Practice Association (SIPA), a role she held from 2011-2016. SIPA is an organization of independent physicians dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, reducing costs, and streamlining delivery of care with accountability to the patients it serves.


Under her joint leadership, SIPA grew by 30% and now represents specialist and primary care physician members from the Shenandoah Valley to the border of Washington DC. Dr. Geib currently serves on the Leadership Council at the Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
