Wayne's Success Story

I am relatively new to grant writing and a dedicated volunteer/board member tasked with writing grants.

Before taking this series I really was confused about how to put one foot in front of the other with grant writing. I wanted to learn more about grant writing for both of the boards I serve on. I had already written and won one grant and some was very anxious to take Maryn’s series when the opportunity arose so that I could learn more. I realize how lucky I was to win my first grant because of what I know after taking this training. I can confidently move forward and am anxious to put in to practice what I now know that I did not know before. I had no idea that grant writing existed in this world on such a large scale nor did I know how many grants there are to apply for and how to go about applying for them in a structured and well planned way.

I really had no idea what I was doing when I wrote my first grant, I simply answered the questions and “filled in the blanks.” After taking this series I know I can do a much better job on my next grant that is coming up soon and I will be more confident and savvy about what to write and how to present my material. Maryn’s course is industrial strength, systematic in its approach and beautifully executed. The Workbook/PowerPoint material that accompanies the video provides a step-by-step easy to follow and logical presentation. Online programs can often be dry and difficult to follow as a result but Maryn is attractive, provides a warm and personable on-camera presentation and is enthusiastic. The beauty of having a recording is the ability to stop, go back and replay.

I knew I was going to learn a lot of useful information after watching the free preview and so I signed up. I did not have pre set expectations of how much or what I was going to learn because everything about grant writing was new. I did not know, for instance, about the organizational protocols and steps to take and how to approach gathering information and data and how to present it all in a cohesive manner. With enough review and study of Maryn’s material I believe I can earn a living being a free-lance grant writer, which I had not considered previously.

My new approach now is “plan, plan, plan!”

The price for the course is a good value bordering on inexpensive. I say that because you can make all of your money back on your first grant. Take advantage of the sheer volume of information and experience Maryn has! The fact she is willing to share it with us all for a nominal price is actually very generous and an opportunity not to be missed.
