We are excited to welcome Dr. Magda Barnard, Dr. Laura Greig and their teams to the COP network! Bedford Orthodontics (Bedford, Nova Scotia) and Metro Orthodontic Specialists (Halifax, Nova Scotia) join the network and further our commitment to excellence in patient care across the Maritimes.

Dr. Barnard graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. in chemistry in 1995 and her dental degree in 1999. After working for five years as a general dentist in Dartmouth, she went back to university to study orthodontics. Dr. Barnard graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Science in orthodontics in 2008 and moved back to the Maritimes, where she eventually took over the practice of Dr. Lee Erickson, at Bedford Orthodontics. She later grew her footprint in Nova Scotia by acquiring Metro Orthodontic Specialists in Halifax.

Dr. Greig received her Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the University of Toronto and is excited to be treating patients here in Halifax. Prior to her Orthodontic specialty education, Laura completed a Pediatric Dental Residency at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Science degree, Advanced Major in Biology, at St. Francis Xavier University.

“We look forward to working closely with the COP team to continue to maintain the level of patient care, experience and treatment results that we have become known for,” said Dr. Barnard. “We want to continue to bring the best that cutting edge technology can offer, and together with COP we remain wholeheartedly committed to a great patient experience and excellence in treatment outcomes.”

The teams at Metro Orthodontic Specialists and Bedford Orthodontics are proud members of their local communities. They support many community events, including the legendary Bedford Days, a community event that draws tens of thousands of residents each summer. The clinics also proudly sponsor several local youth sport teams and their fundraising events each year.
