Events are open to anyone in our Global Community. Whether you’re new to golf or a life-long sicko, we encourage you to join us wherever you are in one of our many events across the globe. All backgrounds, genders and skill levels are encouraged and welcome!
Open to all
Events are open to both Nest and non-Nest members. Nest members are the first to know and have first access to registration.
Fun, casual, competitive
We love a friendly competition! Each event will have some sort of competition tied to it, yet will ensure that golfers of all abilities have a great time.
Variety
We understand that not everyone likes the same things when it comes to golf tournaments. This is why we have created a variety of ways to #getinvolved. Every event will be a little bit different in style, format, price, and location.
Where our events live
The Refuge
The Refuge is No Laying Up's online message board and the core platform of the Nest community. It is a great place to start to meet avid golfers, learn about events, and discuss golf and mostly golf adjacent topics.
The Nest is No Laying Up's international community of avid golfers, and it's the easiest way to get involved in all of the events. By joining the Nest you will be eligible to compete in our two event series beyond the local level.
Golfers across the globe hit the road during the season, joining other golf sickos in competing in Refuge meetups and our two event series. Below is an infographic on how to get entry into The Roost Club Championship and The Nest Invitational Tournament.
The Nest Invitational Tournament is our season-ending invitational that takes place at our home course in Jacksonville Beach, Fl. Players compete in a number of events throughout the year to qualify for 1 of 96 spots at the NIT.
NLU has teamed up with Nest members from across the globe to create local clubs (Roosts). These local chapters give Nest (and non-nest) members more opportunity to meet up and play golf in their local areas.
Our 27 founding roosts are organized into regions and are also competing in a season long competition to crown one Roost the inaugural Nest Club Champion title.
NLU hosted events are just that, hosted and attended by us. These events fall under the Nest Invitational Event Series. While you DO NOT have to be a Nest member to attend NLU events, Nest members do get priority signing up. Visit the event schedule for a list of NLU hosted events.
Refuge Organized Events
No Laying Up Nest members are planning 25+ events in 2022. These events are sanctioned by NLU, have competitive formats, charity partnerships, and NIT qualifying spots up for grabs. These events can fall under one or both event series.Visit the event schedule to see the current list of Refuge organized events.
Roost Organized Events
Captains of local Roosts (clubs) host events throughout the year for Nest (and non-Nest) members in their local area. These events fall under the Roost Club Championship series. Learn more about No Laying Up Roost events.

NLU for Good
Last year we raised over $140,000 through NLU, Refuge, and other organized fundraising. This year we are going for $200,000! Check back frequently to see how we are doing.

Eligible to Qualify and Play in our two event series championships, “The NIT” aka the Nest Invitational Tournament and the Roost Club Championship.
The Nest Invitational Tournament is our season-ending invitational that takes place at our home course in Jacksonville Beach, Fl.
Events found in the event schedule have a certain number of qualifying spots attached to them. Players do not have to be Nest members to play in these events but you must be a Nest member to qualify. At the end of the season, 96 Nest members meet-up in Jax Beach to compete for the title of the the NIT Champion.
