Obstetrics & Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Expansion

Continuing a tradition of excellence in caring for women and their babies

Labor and Delivery & NICU Renovations

At Williamson Medical Center, one of our proudest accomplishments is being named one of America’s best hospitals for obstetrics by the Women’s Choice Awards for seven consecutive years. We also received the 2019 “BEST for Babies” award from the Tennessee Department of Health and the Tennessee Hospital Association.

Rather than rest on those accolades, we’re pushing to do even more for our moms and youngest patients than ever before.

The new and renovated labor and delivery spaces will better complement WMC’s award-winning obstetrics unit and family-centered approach.

Details:

  • 8 more beds added for patients & their babies
  • 1 new NICU room
  • 1 new C-section operating room
  • New and renovated labor and delivery spaces to complement WMC’s award-winning obstetrics unit

More beds so we can better serve even more new mothers.

Updated technology specifically to better care for our high-risk patients.

Privacy and comfort upgrades to ensure that new families have the best experience before they bring their little one home.

“It's very important for us to expand the labor and delivery unit...the unit has outgrown itself. The expansion of the NICU will allow for bigger spaces for each individual parent and couple to be with their baby – more privacy, more room to breastfeed.

Lynn Ellington, M.D.

“We are trying to give this community the healthcare they deserve – the very best healthcare we can provide – close to their home."

Sarah Brown
Director of Perinatal and NICU Services
